Bridie Burns, Office Manager & Sales Executive

Bridie combines a dual role within Advantage Control as Office Manager and Sales Executive and is responsible for liaison with the company’s existing and new customers. Bridie joined the company in 2008 as Office Administrator having previously held sales and management positions with Ulster Weavers and training company White House Consulting. She holds a Diploma in Business and Finance and a HNC in Business and Finance.

Alan Armstrong Bsc Hons., DipM, Managing Director

One of the founders of Advantage Control, Alan is a qualified engineer by profession possessing over 35 years experience in the design, installation and technical selling of drive motors and control applications which has been gained within a variety of challenging roles. Previously, Alan had spent over 20 years working for Thrige-Scott – which had been one of the world’s leading manufacturers of DC motors – as Area Sales Manager in Manchester and Sales Manager in Belfast. Trading off their extensive knowledge and expertise, Alan and colleague George Watt established Advantage Control in 2007 to respond to the requirements of their former customers and suppliers in respect of drives, motors and associated services.

George Watt, Technical Director

A founder of Advantage Control, George is a qualified electrical engineer by profession possessing over 40 years experience in the repair, installation, fault identification, commissioning and external validation working with AC/DC drives and motors. Additionally George is engaged as an external consultant by clients to manage, oversee and deliver projects. Prior to establishing Advantage Control, George worked for Hugh J. Scott & Co as an apprentice and as principal service engineer with Thrige-Scott for over 30 years. George’s expertise and technical knowledge is well-renowned within the sector and he is acclaimed by peers as one of the foremost electrical engineers on the island of Ireland. George is regularly engaged by clients to support and oversee project conceptualisation, design and installation.
