STOP Unnecessary Waste Now!

In the world of electrical energy, electric motors account for 45% of the energy used globally compared to 19% for lighting. Many motors and motor controls are over designed to cope with the dynamics of the system, deterioration of the machinery or equipment inefficiencies and changes in ambient conditions. The processes in many industrial settings and across multiple business sectors is not optimised for performance which in turn leads to energy wastage. Many industrial processes are working inefficiently generating waste at levels from 20% to 65%.

In order to achieve a quantifiable result without sacrificing performance we make it our goal to understand our customers’ needs and requirements. Then through logging and calculations we determine the best course of action for saving energy. We only use power meters for logging which record the actual power used by a process. From the surveys we aim to deliver an installation within 7 days to start savings money and energy as soon as possible. Our team has perfected our product and service offering to deliver: –

  • tangible energy savings up to 60%
  • tangible waste reductions
  • optimised performance of existing motors and drives
  • an extension to the life cycles of motors and drives
  • minimising environmental impacts.

Did you Know?

In Industry, up to 65% of a company’s energy bills are generated by electric motors with many performing at non-optimal levels. Invariably the performance of motors will start to decline over the course of the product’s life cycle. As performance declines, operating costs and wastage (inefficiencies) inevitably rise.

Variable Speed Drives

The life expectancy of an average variable speed drive is 15-20 years depending on environmental conditions and implementing a proper maintenance/servicing regime. Just like your car, a variable speed drive should be checked annually and any serviceable parts changed to ensure continued trouble free operation.

In recent years, we have honed our expertise to deliver a range of customer-led solutions designed to tackle performance problems, inefficiencies and wastage. Working with customers across multiple business sectors, we have perfected our product and service offering to deliver: –

  • tangible energy savings up to 60%
  • tangible waste reductions
  • optimised performance of existing motors and drives
  • an extension to the life cycles of motors and drives
  • minimising environmental impacts.

Care Packages

By understanding what our customers require, we have developed a range of innovative Care packages to extend the life cycle of both motors and drives.

Energy Appraisals

Advantage Control offers customers a free energy appraisal which is designed to identify underperformance and wastage in a company’s drive and motor population. We believe we can achieve energy savings for firms ranging from 25% to 60%. For more information on our products, care packages or to arrange an energy appraisal, please contact us now on 028 44 613782.

Spring Has Sprung…

…and we are heading outdoors supporting local mountain biking events

As part of our commitment to the environment and our local community we are proud to announce that we will be sponsoring the Vitus First Tracks Enduro Cup 2015.

The races take place in the Newry and Mourne Area close to our office in Downpatrick and take in the local hospitality, stunning views and scenery the area has to offer.  They take place over 5 or 6 stages over the course of one day and are proving popular with mountain bikers from as far afield as Sweden.  With a number of family friendly trail centers there’s something local to suit everyone.  Promoting cycling is a great way to help lower your carbon footprint, taking the bike to work or school reduces the number of cars burning fuel and creating emissions.  It’s also great for your health.

The emissions from burning fuel doesn’t stop at the car or van.  Supply of electricity accounts for a huge level of carbon dioxide emissions with electric motors consuming 65% of the electricity generated.  By optimizing your processes with ABB Variable Speed Drives you can significantly reduce your carbon footprint and save money paying for only the energy you need.

Advantage Control demonstrates the latest Drives and Pump Monitoring at Belfast show

belfast2   We showcased the Sulzer Monitor and Control family in Belfast yesterday with our associates at Advantage Control. Our Demo unit shown here is a simulator for a two pump control  system up to 7.5kW, ideal for the PDAS Sewage for adoption market

The show was well intended and we had visitors from as far away as Canada as well as local companies such as Northern Ireland Water Services.

We demonstrated the Sulzer PumpCloud working realtime on a station across the water on the mainland over the internet via gsm modem which really caught the imagination of a number of  visiting delegates.

Advantage Control as ABB Drives Alliance Partners for Northern Ireland and also took the opportunity to showcase the latest member of the ABB Drives Family, the ACS880 powerful All-Compatible Drive, suitable for multiple applications. Stephen Rooney, from ABB, was on hand to take the drive though its paces

Advantage Control at The Pump CentreWe recently took part in the Pump Centre Exhibition in Telford. An annual event that attracts influential representatives from across the Water and Waste Water management sector.

We shared a stand with our UK counterparts Sentridge Control and used the event to launch our new DriveCloud and ActivFlow products, which we have been develpoing in partnership with Sentridge.

Our stand included a live working model of the new system and proved very popular with visitors, especially those with teams of field engineers as these new innovations will be useful to reduce engineer call-out time.
